Mathematics (Y09)

In year 9 students will be introduced to a variety of mathematical topics with a focus on developing problem-solving skills, logical reasoning and improving mathematical literacy. The topics covered in year 9 are integers, fractions, decimals and percentages under Number and Algebra, working with patterns, conversion of units, finding areas and perimeters of triangles and quadrilaterals under Geometry and Measurement, solving simple probability problems, collecting and analysing data using the PPDAC cycle under Statistics and probability. This course will lead to the year 10 MAT course

Students will use technology to enhance their mathematical understanding.
